Data Analyst
Woven Advice
About Woven
Woven is a seed-stage fintech building the data infrastructure that has been missing from UK financial advice.
Our platform helps advisers uncover the savings hidden in their clients' portfolios - often thousands of pounds per client in fees -as part of a wider mission to save UK investors over £7 billion a year. Woven Analytics gives advisers a single, normalised view of their whole book, and we are already partnered with around 30% of the UK platform market.
We believe clean data is the bedrock of good advice. It is also very hard to come by. That gap is the reason we exist.
About the role
We are hiring more than one Data Analyst, at both mid and senior level, through this single advert. Tell us which feels like the right fit and we will take it from there - if you are somewhere between the two, apply anyway.
This is a broad, high-trust role working shoulder to shoulder with everyone in the business. You will sit where commercial, operations and customer success meet: the kind of role where you learn how a start-up actually gets built and have a real hand in scaling it. If you like wearing several hats, asking good questions and turning messy processes into repeatable ones, you will do well here.
The work itself is client data - extracting it, interrogating it, cleaning it and making sense of it across acquisitions, platform migrations and analytics projects. Most of it starts life in advice CRM and back-office systems, which is why we care so much about people who already know those systems from the inside.
Though AI can process data at scale, it takes human experience, curiosity and client understanding to make that data worth processing in the first place.
What you'll do
- Work with data from advice CRM and back-office systems - extracting, mapping, reconciling and cleaning it so it can be trusted
- Investigate anomalies and chase them to root cause, working with clients and internal teams until the answer is real rather than plausible
- Support clients through acquisitions, platform migrations and analytics engagements, translating what they need into a clear data brief
- Write and refine SQL queries to pull, shape and present data across client projects
- Deliver client-facing outputs: data audits, gap analyses, migration mappings, implementation plans and recommendations
- Turn one-off fixes into repeatable processes - templates, checks, scripts, documentation - so nobody solves the same problem twice
- Feed client requirements back to the product team and help shape the Woven Analytics roadmap
- Spot patterns in client data that point to better outcomes, and say so
What we're looking for
Essential
- Hands-on experience with financial advice CRM and back-office systems - Intelliflo, Curo, Plannr, Iress, FE, Dynamic Planner, Time4Advice or similar.
- A working understanding of financial advice and wealth management: platforms, products, fees, wrappers, valuations, client reporting and what advisers actually need from their data
- Comfortable working with data day to day - strong Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, data validation) and the ability to write SQL, or clear evidence you will pick it up quickly
- A genuine liking for messy data and the patience to clean it properly rather than work around it
- Curiosity about why something broke, and the instinct to fix the process rather than just the symptom
- Clear communication with clients and colleagues, including people who do not think in data
- Sound judgement and the initiative to move things forward without being asked twice
Nice to have
- Experience of platform migrations or acquisition integrations from the data side
- Strong SQL against relational databases (MySQL or similar) in a professional setting
- Python for data manipulation, or experience automating repetitive tasks with scripts or workflow tools
- Familiarity with APIs, flat files, SFTP and other transfer methods
- Experience with cloud data warehouses and platforms - Snowflake, AWS, Azure, BigQuery, Databricks or equivalent
- Understanding of FCA regulatory requirements as they touch client data and reporting
- Experience running projects, or with tools such as Jira or Asana
- Having worked alongside product or engineering teams on data-driven features
What we offer
- Remote working, with the option to use a London base
- A seat in a young, ambitious company changing how UK financial advice runs on data
- Direct impact on client outcomes and on how the business scales
- A collaborative culture where ideas and initiative count for more than job titles
- Salary depending on level and experience - we'll be open about the range on the first call
