Power BI dashboards and statistical analysis define this full-time Data Analyst and Evaluation Specialist position at the University of Waterloo. The temporary term is 18 months.

Within Student Success Office - Faculty Relations, this specialist supports data infrastructure, analysis, and insights for operational and strategic decisions. The work involves complex datasets, data management, program evaluation, and consultation. Python or R, SQL, Excel, and Power BI are central tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Power BI dashboards, visualizations, reports, and analytical products
  • Clean, merge, format, and analyze complex institutional datasets
  • Create reusable analytical frameworks and data extracts
  • Analyze trends using descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Prioritize routine and ad hoc data inquiries

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Statistics, Economics, or Data Analytics
  • At least three years’ experience analyzing complex datasets
  • Python or R experience manipulating and visualizing data
  • SQL, relational database, and advanced Excel experience
  • Power BI report and dashboard development experience
