Data & Analytics Manager

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 Location:

North Cambridgeshire

Working Pattern: Four days onsite, with one day working from home

Zachary Daniels is partnering with a successful, privately owned multi-brand retail group to appoint a Data & Analytics Manager.

The business has an established UK store estate, growing brands and ambitious plans for future expansion and acquisition. While it already generates significant data across retail, ecommerce, customer, marketing, stock and operations, there is currently limited infrastructure in place to bring everything together.

This is a genuine greenfield opportunity for someone to establish the data and analytics capability from the ground up.

The Opportunity

You will work closely with the owners and senior leadership team to understand the current data landscape, define the strategy and build the systems, reporting and processes needed to improve decision-making across the group.

This is not a role where you will inherit a finished platform and simply maintain existing dashboards. You will have the freedom to identify what is missing, recommend the right technology and create a data capability that delivers visible commercial value.

Key Responsibilities

Define and deliver the group's data and analytics strategy

Review the existing systems, data sources and reporting processes

Design a scalable data architecture and establish a trusted source of business information

Select and implement appropriate data, reporting and BI technology

Connect data across stores, ecommerce, CRM, marketing, product, stock and operations

Replace fragmented spreadsheets and manual reporting with automated solutions

Develop reporting and dashboards for senior leadership and operational teams

Provide commercial insight into customer behaviour, trading performance and digital growth

Establish data governance, ownership and quality standards

Partner with technology, ecommerce, marketing, finance and retail teams

Help shape the future structure and development of the data function

Support future acquisitions by helping integrate new brands and data sources

What We Are Looking For

Experience building or significantly improving a data and analytics capability

Strong technical understanding of modern data platforms, reporting and BI tools

Able to operate strategically while remaining close to hands-on delivery

Experience bringing together data from multiple business systems

Strong commercial awareness and the ability to turn data into clear actions

Comfortable influencing owners, directors and senior stakeholders

A practical approach with the ability to deliver in a fast-moving environment

An empathetic, people-focused leadership style

Retail, ecommerce, consumer or another omnichannel environment would be highly advantageous

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join a successful retailer at an important stage of its development. You will have direct access to the decision-makers, genuine ownership of the data agenda and the chance to build something meaningful rather than working around years of established processes.

The business has a refreshingly practical culture, moves quickly and values people who bring ideas without unnecessary complexity.
