Data Architecture Lead

In this role, you will lead the design, buildout, and operations of a next-generation security master (secmaster) data architecture within a multi-strategy hedge fund. You’ll guide a Python/SQL engineering team, ensure data quality and governance, and align data architecture with business strategy. You’ll shape data models, metadata, and data flows to support global trading across asset classes, driving performance, scalability, and secure data management. This is a hands-on leadership role at the data-architecture core of the firm.

• Design and implement the enterprise data architecture aligned with business objectives
• Develop and maintain the secmaster data models, metadata, and data flows
• Lead and mentor the secmaster team of Python/SQL engineers
• Establish data governance practices including lineage, cataloguing, retention, and quality
• Monitor and optimize data processes for efficient integration, transformation, and storage
• Evaluate and recommend data management tools and technologies to enhance architecture

• 7-10 years of experience in data architecture, data modelling, and data management
• Deep experience with security master systems in hedge funds or investment management
• Strong knowledge of financial instruments across asset classes (equities, options, futures, credit, etc.)
• Proficiency with SQL Server and T-SQL
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure) and big data tech (Kafka, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake)
• Expert-level ETL development in Python
