Data Assurance Manager

As Technology Data Assurance Team Lead at Severn Trent, you will lead a four-person specialist team to govern data rights, DSARs, and information management, ensuring secure, compliant handling of personal data. You’ll collaborate with Legal and the Data Protection Officer to manage complex cases and drive continuous improvement in data assurance. You’ll help teams meet regulatory requirements and strengthen customer trust through robust data practices. This role combines leadership, governance and a customer‑focused service mindset.

• Lead end-to-end management of DSARs and data rights requests, ensuring accuracy and security
• Ensure UK GDPR compliance within regulatory timescales and manage extensions as needed
• Maintain high data protection quality with proper redaction and evidence of exemptions
• Manage team caseloads, monitor deadlines, and identify risks early
• Collaborate with Legal, DPO, and stakeholders on complex or contested cases
• Build cross‑functional relationships to educate teams on data rights responsibilities
• Foster a collaborative, efficient data rights process for operational teams
• Support continuous improvement of data governance and assurance practices
