Overview

In this role you will lead end-to-end ownership of the Salesforce tools that power customer engagement and commercial activity. You will guide a small specialist team, establishing governance, processes and technical capability around the Salesforce ecosystem. You’ll ensure reliable data flows and a clean Single Customer View to enable targeted, multi-channel journeys and informed decision-making. This is a data-led, transformational role that shapes how the business engages customers at scale while maintaining data quality and compliance. Responsibilities
  • Set the strategic direction for how the Salesforce ecosystem powers customer communications across channels
  • Maintain and enhance the Single Customer View with accurate data flows for targeting, segmentation and reporting
  • Ensure integrations with internal systems support secure, real-time cross-channel journeys
  • Oversee data pipelines, automations, change controls and delivery guardrails for consistency and compliance
  • Lead, mentor and develop the Data Automation team to reduce key-person dependency and share knowledge
  • Embed governance, documentation and handover processes to retain technical knowledge
  • Collaborate with CRM, Commercial, Data Insights, Analytics and Salesforce DevOps teams to support journey orchestration and measurement
  • Enable personalisation at scale through data and platform capabilities
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes and automate manual tasks
  • Support reliable reporting and dashboards for self-serve insights
Key requirements
  • Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Content & Automation Studio, Journey Builder, SQL, Cloud Pages, AMPscript)
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce ecosystem (Data Cloud, MCP/Personalization, Service Cloud exposure)
  • Proficiency with SQL and data structures; experience with Snowflake or similar platforms
  • Experience in change management, governance, documentation and knowledge transfer
  • Experience working within data quality, security, and safe-to-send practices
  • People management experience; ability to lead and grow a technical team
  • Experience in CRM, data automation or marketing technology within data-led teams
  • Ability to deliver personalisation at scale using data and platform capabilities
