Data Centre Engineer – Quant Trading

In this role you design, build, and scale data centres and colocation facilities to keep data safe and accessible around the clock. You’ll collaborate with network, server, facilities, and trading teams, working closely with vendors to maintain a robust data infrastructure. It’s a hands-on, high-impact position at a fast-paced, innovation-driven trading firm with a startup-like tech culture. You’ll help drive dependable operations and secure, well-documented data centre environments, contributing to mission-critical trading workflows.
Responsibilities- Design deployment plans for new equipment using data centre best practices
- Manage procurement, shipping, and inventory of equipment, cabling, and parts
- Install and configure server OS in a PXE environment with Linux
- Install, cabling, configure, and troubleshoot network and server hardware
- Ensure security, documentation, organization, safety, and cleanliness in data centre operations
- ideally 6+ years in a data centre environment with strong cabling, vendor management
- self-starter mindset with initiative and problem-solving
- strong communication
- ability to troubleshoot dark fibre connectivity
- coding skills or ability to upgrade code on network devices (Python, Bash, Go)
- experience managing projects
- knowledge of networking fundamentals (switching, routing, L2/L3)
- Linux
- experience with server and network hardware (Dell, Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Ciena, Corning, Ortronics)
- ability to design/deploy/test/troubleshoot copper and fibre cabling
- willingness to travel 2-4 weeks/year and flexible hours
