Data Centre Operations Intern

Build data centre operations experience at Sun Life in Waterloo, using IT hardware knowledge and hands-on equipment support. This is primarily in person.

The Data Centre Intern supports IT hardware life-cycle management at Sun Life. You will assist with installations, equipment disposition, vendor coordination, documentation, and security protocols. The role also includes DCIM validation and UPS tool onboarding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in IT hardware life-cycle management processes
• Assist with physical equipment installation in data centre cabinets
• Organize hardware for installation or disposition
• Coordinate vendor pickups and onsite resource escorts
• Track tasks against timelines and maintain documentation

Requirements:

• Eligibility for the Indigenous Student Employment Program
• High school diploma or grade twelve equivalent
• Knowledge of IT hardware terms and platforms
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
