Job Role

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management.

We are seeking a experienced and technically proficient Shift Leader to oversee operations within a Critical Environment, to join our talent pool for both current and future opportunities.

The Shift Leader will provide technical leadership, manage their shift team, and ensure seamless service delivery whilst maintaining compliance with all regulatory, health and safety, and client-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Supervise a multidisciplinary team and act as the CBRE representative outside of core of hours.
  • Manage shift team duty of care, including holiday and sickness, performance appraisals, and training plan implementation.

Operational Oversight

  • Responsible for the execution of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and reactive work orders within defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets.

Technical Compliance

  • Appointed Authorised Person for both Electrical (HVAP) and Pressure Systems (PSSR) AP.

Critical Environment Expertise

  • Ensure maximum availability of critical plant and user equipment.
  • Lead troubleshooting, fault identification, and rectification, escalating issues where necessary.

Communication & Reporting

  • Ensure a high degree of communication at shift handover via verbal briefing, shift logs, and status boards.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure total compliance with company and client health and safety policies.
  • Complete toolbox talks, mock drills and assist in workplace assessments, and audits.
  • Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping across the facility.

Financial & Resource Control

  • Exercise appropriate control over critical and consumable parts and tools.
  • Creating innovation recommendations for continuous improvement in all aspects of the contract for best outcomes for the Client.

Essential

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Experience working within Critical Environments.
  • Reliable and conscientious.
  • Integrity, honesty and punctuality is also expected.
  • HVAP (High Voltage Authorised Person) status.
  • 18th Edition IEE: Wiring & Installation competent.
  • City & Guilds Electrical Competency (Parts 1,2 & 3) or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive building services knowledge in both Mechanical & Electrical disciplines.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) and BMS (Building Management Systems).
  • Demonstrable experience of "Safe Systems of Work", i.e permit to work, safety regulations (e.g., COSHH, Health & Safety at Work Act).
  • Excellent customer relationship skills and the ability to act professionally at all times.

Desirable

  • Comprehensive building services knowledge (F-Gas & Water Management).
  • Working knowledge or hands on experience of liquid cooling systems including but not limited to CDU’s and direct to chip cooling.
  • Working knowledge and hands on experience of Chillers and cooling systems and F-Gas regulations and administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to attend on and off-site training for plant and systems as they are installed.
  • This may require nights away from home.

Skills

  • Technically competent with critical infrastructure such as UPS, generators, static switches, water treatment, refrigeration and air conditioning.
  • Fault identification/rectification and escalation when required.
  • To ensure site systems are operated and maintained to the required codes of practice and industry guidelines.
  • To carry out day-to-day maintenance and reactive issues relating to assets, within agreed contractual timeframes.
  • Complete information and feed back to CMMS system in regard to PPMs and reactive works.
