We’re seeking a skilled Data Engineer (contractor) to help our client build and scale their data infrastructure using Databricks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines
  • Work with streaming and batch data ingestion
  • Optimize data quality and reliability
  • Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams
  • Influence architecture decisions and shape best practices

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Databricks in production environments
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related data services
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting
  • Comfort with autonomy, ambiguity, and fast-paced environments

Details

  • Contract role (6 months +), with potential extension
  • Ideally 2 days a week onsite in Warrington, but can offer some flex if this is not feasible
  • Start ASAP
