Overview

In this contract role, you will support a data transformation programme moving from a legacy data warehouse to a Microsoft Fabric environment. You’ll focus on the final migration steps, validate outputs, and fix data diffs to ready the Fabric setup for production. After go-live, you’ll help with post‑go‑live support and ongoing data pipelines to meet reporting needs. This position offers hybrid Edinburgh work and a competitive daily rate within Inside IR35, ideal for hands-on specialists who can accelerate the migration and enable reliable analytics.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the final stages of migration from legacy data warehouse to Microsoft Fabric
  • Test outputs and identify/debug data differences
  • Apply remedial changes to ensure production readiness
  • Support post go-live activities and ongoing development of data pipelines
  • Build and maintain data pipelines to support data and reporting requirements across the business
Key requirements
  • Microsoft Fabric experience on a real-world commercial project
  • Strong Microsoft Synapse development experience
  • Excellent PySpark and SQL skills
  • Experience building and developing data pipelines
  • Strong data testing, validation and debugging skills
  • Experience working on data warehouse migrations or modernisation projects
  • Power BI experience (beneficial)
