Overview

In this Data Engineer role, you will help build and evolve a modern data platform on Microsoft Fabric to enable better decision-making across the firm. You’ll work with Data Architects, Analysts and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions that support performance and growth. The role sits at the center of the firm's data and AI transformation, shaping how data is used across a leading international law firm. You’ll explore new Fabric capabilities to continually improve the data estate.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows using Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Notebooks, Lakehouse, Warehouse)
  • Migrate on-premise and cloud data solutions to Fabric architectures
  • Develop and optimise data models for analytics and reporting
  • Integrate data from finance, CRM and operations systems
  • Build robust ELT/ETL processes ensuring data quality and performance
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions
  • Apply data governance, security and compliance best practices in a regulated environment
  • Support continuous improvement of the data platform and engineering practices
  • Explore and leverage new Microsoft Fabric capabilities to enhance the data estate
Key requirements
  • Commercial experience as a Data Engineer
  • Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Notebooks, Power BI integration)
  • Strong SQL skills with relational and analytical data models
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Knowledge of Azure data services and cloud architectures
  • Understanding of data governance, security and data quality best practices
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Effective communication with technical and business stakeholders
