Overview
In this role you will design, build and optimise scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and curated data models to empower reporting and self-service analytics. You’ll work closely with BI Developers and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions, while advancing data quality, governance and platform improvements. You’ll engage with modern cloud tools and aim to influence the evolution of the data platform in a collaborative, forward-thinking team. This is a backend-focused analytics engineering opportunity with a strong data-centric impact.
Responsibilities- Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines delivering high-quality data
- Develop curated, business-ready datasets for reporting and self-service analytics
- Optimize data models, SQL queries and pipeline performance for efficiency and scale
- Implement data quality, monitoring and governance controls for trusted data
- Collaborate with BI Developers to support performant visualisations through backend models
- Translate business requirements into robust technical data solutions
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the data platform and tooling
- Strong SQL skills with experience building and optimising data models
- Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS preferred)
- Exposure to data warehousing, data lakes and modern data architecture
- Understanding of workflow orchestration and automation tools
- Python experience (including PySpark) beneficial but not essential
- Exposure to BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau or QuickSight
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
