This is an opportunity to join a growing Data team and play a hands‑on role in developing a recently deployed Microsoft Fabric platform. You’ll work with diverse datasets spanning manufacturing operations, sustainability and energy analytics, and core enterprise business systems.
Combining data engineering, analytics and stakeholder engagement, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact while taking increasing technical ownership as the organisation’s data capabilities mature.
The Role
Working with stakeholders across UK, US and European operations, you’ll help ensure data is accessible, trusted and used effectively to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
Reporting to the Global IT Manager , you’ll work across the full data lifecycle — from understanding business requirements and developing pipelines through to creating trusted data models, enabling analytics and supporting adoption across the business.
You’ll also have the opportunity to help establish the standards, governance and ways of working that will underpin the future of the data platform.
What you’ll be doing
- Champion data innovation within a forward‑thinking manufacturing environment, bringing together data from energy systems, operational technology, ERP and CRM platforms
- Design, build and continuously improve scalable, end‑to‑end data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric
- Implement and maintain medallion architecture across ingestion, transformation and presentation layers
- Develop and optimise trusted data models and semantic layers for reporting, self‑service analytics and business insight
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical data solutions
- Support analytics initiatives from discovery through to implementation and adoption
- Help shape platform standards, governance, security and development practices
- Maintain high standards of data quality, reliability and performance
- Identify opportunities to improve tools, processes and ways of working
- Continue developing your technical and professional capability as the data platform evolves
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with curiosity, ownership and the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
You’ll bring

- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across business and IT teams
- A proactive, self‑driven approach, with the ability to take ownership and see work through to completion
- A structured and logical approach to problem‑solving and analysis
- A genuine growth mindset, with a willingness to learn, accept feedback and continuously improve
Your technical experience
You’ll ideally have hands‑on experience with:
- Microsoft Fabric , including Lakehouse, Dataflows, Notebooks, Pipelines and workspace management
- Designing and supporting scalable data solutions across ingestion, transformation and presentation layers
- Strong SQL , including developing, optimising and troubleshooting queries for data transformation and analytical models
- Modern data engineering practices, including medallion architecture, pipeline design, version control, testing and performance optimisation
- Developing robust data models and semantic layers using Power BI or similar analytics platforms
- Preparing and validating real‑world datasets, including data cleansing, handling missing or duplicate records, standardising inputs and exploratory analysis
- Working with structured business data from enterprise systems such as ERP and CRM platforms , with an understanding of data relationships, master data and business processes
- Structured development practices, including Dev/UAT/Prod environments, release management and change control
- Data governance, platform security and access control principles, including RBAC, data classification and secure handling of business data
- Data quality management, including validation, monitoring, reconciliation and continuous improvement
