Responsibilities
  • Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS or Azure cloud-native services
  • Develop data integration components and Java-based microservices when needed
  • Prepare and transform structured and semi-structured data (parquet, avro, JSON)
  • Write and optimize SQL for cloud analytics platforms (Athena, Redshift, Synapse SQL)
  • Build scalable data processing with PySpark, Python and cloud orchestration services
  • Implement data quality checks, validation, monitoring and logging
  • Tune performance of data pipelines, SQL workloads and integration services
  • Work with AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions) or Azure equivalents (Data Lake Storage Gen2, Data Factory, Synapse, Functions, Logic Apps)
  • Contribute to documentation, runbooks, data dictionaries and reusable assets
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, engineers and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions
  • Support DevOps practices with source control, automated testing and CI/CD
  • Communicate progress, risks and decisions to technical and non-technical audiences
Key requirements
  • AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions or Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, Azure Functions and Logic Apps
  • PySpark
  • SQL (Athena, Redshift, Azure Synapse SQL)
  • AWS S3 or Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
  • Python and/or Java
  • ETL/ELT data pipeline development
  • Data quality, validation and monitoring
  • Git, CI/CD and Agile delivery practices
  • Eligibility for SC Clearance
