Overview

As a Data Engineer, you will build and optimise scalable data architectures to deliver data-driven solutions that support customers and the bank. You will extract, transform, and load data to empower analysts while ensuring security and data quality. The role involves collaborating with technology teams, advocating beneficial changes for product development, and applying DevOps practices to data delivery. You’ll source and integrate data to support the bank’s strategic direction, with a focus on cost-aware, scalable data platforms. This is a hybrid, London-based full-time opportunity to shape data solutions at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, test and optimise scalable data architectures
  • Perform data extraction, transformation and loading to data platforms
  • Develop knowledge of bank data structures and metrics and advocate changes for product development
  • Practise DevOps in data delivery; perform root cause analysis and resolve issues
  • Collaborate with core technology and architecture teams to share data knowledge and solutions
  • Understand data platform cost levers to build cost-effective solutions
  • Source new data using appropriate tooling and integrate it into solutions
  • Design and implement data ingestion and integration with Informatica IDMC; use Cloud Data Integration and Cloud Application Integration, APIs and real-time or batch processing patterns
Key requirements
  • Strong understanding of how data is used across teams and by end customers
  • Experience extracting value from large-scale datasets
  • Expertise in data integration, transformation, and orchestration in Informatica IDMC
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
  • Entity Resolution techniques (fuzzy, deterministic, ML-based)
  • Designing data ingestion and integration using Informatica IDMC
  • Configuring match rules, survivorship rules and clustering logic
  • Integrating Entity Resolution with Data Quality and downstream applications
  • Data quality frameworks for data accuracy and completeness
  • ETL design, data quality testing, data cleansing, monitoring, data warehousing and data modelling
  • Modern software and data engineering practices; effective stakeholder communication
  • Collaborative teamwork
  • Effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders
