Data Engineering Lead | Bristol (3 days a week) | £75,000 - £85,000

I'm currently working with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced Data Engineering Lead to join their growing Data & Insight function.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people while staying technically hands-on , with a key role in shaping the organisation's data strategy and modernising its data platform.

We can consider Senior Data Engineers who are looking to make a step up into a more Senior role!

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead, mentor and develop a talented team of Data Engineers
• Provide technical direction across data platforms and products
• Drive the migration to Databricks and a modern lakehouse environment
• Stay hands-on with complex engineering challenges using Python, SQL & Spark
• Work closely with Technology, Architecture, BI and wider business teams
• Support major transformation and integration programmes

What They're Looking For

• Exposure to management of Data Engineering teams
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Python and SQL
• Solid understanding of modern data architecture and engineering practices
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Someone who can balance technical leadership with strategic thinking
