Data Governance Analyst

In this role you protect corporate data and ensure it is identified, classified, retained, and secured within a cyber-focused team. You will implement governance with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and policy adherence, collaborating across business units to embed best practices. The position centers on Microsoft Purview management and driving consistent data handling and reporting. This is a hands-on role at a security-conscious, hybrid-working environment near Chester with impact across the organization.

• Oversee data governance to ensure proper identification, classification, retention and security of data
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, standards and regulatory requirements
• Manage Microsoft Purview and embed governance practices across business teams
• Develop and maintain clear documentation and reporting on data governance activities
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to implement policies and processes
• Design and implement data governance policies and processes

• Solid knowledge of data governance fundamentals (retention, classification, security controls)
• Experience with Microsoft Purview
• Experience creating and maintaining documentation and reporting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Understanding of data protection and privacy legislation
• Proven ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
• Certifications such as CIPM, CIPP/E, or equivalent in data governance
