Overview

In this role you will help establish and sustain data governance within the Smart Retail Ordering programme, ensuring clear ownership, quality, and traceability of SRO data. You will collaborate with business and tech teams to embed governance into processes, improve data quality and master data management, and provide insights through reports to support supply chain and inventory decisions. Your work will enable reliable, scalable data-driven decisions across merchandising and operations. Responsibilities
  • Support rollout of data governance practices within the SRO programme across technology, retail, and supply chain functions
  • Develop and maintain data definitions, glossaries, standards, and governance documentation for SRO data
  • Improve data quality and enable data usability for product, supplier, inventory, and ordering data via MDM and quality management
  • Monitor data quality, address issues, perform root cause analysis, and validate data across platforms
  • Support data lineage and traceability initiatives for ordering, inventory, and stock management
  • Partner with business and technology teams to embed governance principles into new SRO processes and systems; provide training on best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement through ad hoc reports, data extracts, process enhancements, and governance reviews/audits/risk management
Key requirements
  • Proven experience in data governance, data quality, or data management
  • Strong understanding of retail buying, merchandising principles, and related data
  • Ability to work with both business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Highly analytical with experience resolving data quality issues
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
