Overview

As a Data Governance Lead at BSI, you will drive the enterprise data governance framework to ensure trust, quality, and regulatory compliance across key data domains. You will work with business and technology teams to embed governance principles and promote data ownership and literacy. One of the roles focuses on AI/ML data governance, adding scale and technical scope. Your work enables consistent data definitions, metadata management, and transparent data assets to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Embed and operationalize the enterprise data governance framework across the organization
  • Lead data stewardship activities with Data Owners and Stewards to establish clear accountability
  • Define and maintain business data definitions, taxonomies, and standards for critical data assets
  • Manage data quality by defining, monitoring, and remediating quality issues and metrics
  • Oversee metadata management, data cataloguing, lineage, and data classification
  • Facilitate Data Governance Councils and governance forums, providing reporting and insights to senior stakeholders
  • Collaborate with business, technology, architecture, analytics, security, and compliance to embed controls in data platforms and processes
  • Foster a culture of data ownership, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement
  • AI/ML Role: manage data layer governance, quality, metadata, and alignment with business definitions
Key requirements
  • Proven experience in Data Governance or Data Management roles
  • Practical experience with data stewardship, metadata management, and data quality
  • Strong knowledge of data policy frameworks
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, or equivalent frameworks (nice to have)
