Data Governance Lead

You will establish and continuously enhance the enterprise data governance framework, ensuring trusted, compliant data across claims, client and case data. You’ll work across business and technology functions to set standards, policies and controls, enabling analytics, automation and AI. As the central data governance expert, you’ll guide data owners, stewards and custodians and drive a culture of responsible data use. This leadership role combines governance, regulatory compliance and cross-functional collaboration to improve data quality and risk management.

• Lead development, implementation and optimization of the data governance framework
• Define data quality standards, ownership models, metadata management and data lineage documentation
• Drive data classification and access controls across case management, finance and CRM systems
• Establish data quality KPIs and coordinate with stakeholders to remediate issues
• Provide training and guidance to data owners and stewards on governance obligations
• Partner with the DPO to ensure regulatory compliance (GDPR)
• Support GDPR activities, DPIAs and governance of data used in AI/ML solutions
• Act as primary contact for data governance regulatory matters
• Define policies for third-party and AI vendor data handling
• Chair a cross-functional data governance forum with documented decisions and actions

• Proven experience designing, implementing or improving data governance in a regulated environment
• Good working knowledge of UK GDPR and practical application
• Experience with data catalogue, metadata and data lineage tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview)
• Knowledge of master data management and data quality practices
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across all levels
• Ability to drive governance initiatives while balancing operations and delivery
