Data Migration Lead

As Data Migration Lead, you will own the end-to-end delivery of data migration projects within the Clinical Systems team, ensuring safe transfer of patient records across clinical systems. You’ll work closely with clinical and technical colleagues to maintain data integrity, quality and patient safety within NHS-aligned services. The role is predominantly remote with occasional UK travel and exposure to a range of clinical technologies and service transformation programmes. You will shape data migration plans that enable timely, accurate transitions and support broader healthcare delivery improvements.

• Lead and coordinate end-to-end data migration projects with detailed plans and timelines
• Oversee safe transfer and transformation of patient records between EPR systems
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, external organisations and EPR suppliers
• Coordinate data extraction, transformation, testing and migration activities with clear responsibilities and deadlines
• Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues and dependencies; maintain RAID logs and decision records
• Collaborate with Information Governance and Clinical Safety to meet regulatory, security and patient safety standards
• Support data validation and testing with technical and database teams to ensure accurate transfer
• Provide regular updates and presentations to programme boards and senior stakeholders
• Support planning of new healthcare service mobilisations and advise on data migration requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement of migration processes and project delivery approaches
• Serve as a key point of contact to align cross-functional teams and ensure progress under tight deadlines

• Recognised Project Management qualification or extensive project management experience (min 5 years)
• Technical qualification or ≥2 years’ experience in data management, SQL Server, or database engineering
• Proven track record of managing complex data movement, migration or transformation projects
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and diverse delivery approaches
• Knowledge of healthcare data structures, datasets and SNOMED CT
• Understanding of information governance and management of sensitive data
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with negotiation ability
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities to manage competing priorities
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Desirable: experience with EPR systems (TPP SystmOne or EMIS Web), health informatics, BA experience, software development knowledge, Agile PM qualification
