Data Modeler

Working Pattern: Hybrid – 1 day onsite per week

The Role

My client is a leading insurance organisation undergoing a significant period of data and technology transformation. They are looking for an experienced Data Modeller to help establish a common, pragmatic approach to data modelling across multiple business units and domains.

You will play a key role in ensuring data assets brought onto the new platform are consistent, interoperable and reusable , supporting both reporting and analytical use cases while maintaining strong data quality and structure.

Insurance experience would be beneficial, but is not essential . The client is open to candidates from other industries who have strong enterprise data modelling experience and are comfortable learning a new domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a practical, consistent approach to data modelling across different data products and business domains.
• Align data structures across multiple source systems to improve consistency and interoperability.
• Design models that support reusable enterprise data assets, reporting and analytical use cases.
• Work closely with data and technology teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective data models.
• Balance the need for rapid delivery with long-term data quality, scalability and structural coherence.
• Contribute to the development of data modelling standards and best practices across the organisation.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in data modelling within enterprise environments.
• Experience working with modern data platforms, data products and analytical use cases.
• Strong understanding of data structures, relationships and modelling principles.
• Experience working across multiple business domains and source systems.
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving transformation environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Insurance experience is desirable but not essential.

Working Arrangement

The successful candidate will be required to work onsite one day per week , with the option to be based in either London or York , working remotely for the remainder of the week.
