Contract Data Modeller
£550 per day | Inside IR35 | Occasional travel to Swindon | Currently scheduled to end 31 March 2027
We're looking for a Data Modeller to help a large organisation build consistent,trusted data for reporting and analysis.
This is a hands-on dimensional modelling role. You'll work through complex business processes with stakeholders,agree how the data should be defined,and design models that can be implemented across an enterprise analytical platform. The data covers areas including funding,finance,people and research.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain dimensional models using Kimball methods,including fact tables,conformed dimensions,hierarchies and star schemas.
- Produce conceptual,logical and physical models,and translate them into clear specifications for engineering teams.
- Run modelling workshops with business stakeholders and work through differences in definitions across data domains.
- Work with data architects,engineers and governance specialists to support consistent reporting and trusted datasets.
- Design structures that support BI,self-service analytics and downstream advanced analytics.
What we're looking for
You'll need strong,hands-on experience designing and implementing Kimball dimensional data warehouse solutions. Just as important is the ability to understand a business process,make sound modelling decisions and explain those decisions to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Experience working across multiple data domains,establishing shared definitions and collaborating closely with data engineering teams will be useful.
The contract is inside IR35 at £550 per day,with occasional travel to Swindon. It is currently scheduled to run until 31 March 2027.
