Overview

In this hands-on Data Platform Architect role, you will define the architecture for Comply's enterprise data platform and shape data products, APIs, event streams, semantic models, lakehouse technologies, AI interfaces, and analytics capabilities. You will design end-to-end platform solutions, set interoperability standards, and scalable integration patterns across API, streaming, batch, and self-service channels. You will collaborate with product, technology, and customer teams to align initiatives with long-term platform goals, governance, and AI readiness. This is a high-impact role that influences how customers and internal teams interact with the data platform at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Design end-to-end platform solutions connecting data pipelines, data products, security master, semantic models, lakehouse technologies, APIs, event-driven services, AI interfaces, and analytics platforms
  • Establish architectural standards for interoperability (APIs, event contracts, data exchange patterns, versioning, access controls)
  • Define scalable integration patterns for customers, partners, and enterprise systems across API, streaming, batch, and self-service channels
  • Create consistent interfaces for human users, analytics tools, applications, AI agents, MCP-compatible clients, and LLM-powered experiences
  • Partner with Product, Technology, and Customer teams to ensure alignment with platform architecture and strategic goals
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate capabilities, reduce duplication, and increase platform reuse
  • Guide architectural decisions balancing scalability, governance, observability, security, and maintainability
  • Contribute to long-term technology strategy focusing on extensibility, modularity, composability, and AI readiness
Key requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in R&D Architecture
  • Proven success designing enterprise data platforms that drive adoption and business value
  • Deep understanding of APIs, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems
  • Experience integrating complex SaaS platforms into cohesive architectural solutions
  • Cloud-native architecture experience, ideally within AWS environments
  • Strong understanding of data products and modern data architecture patterns
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
