Overview

In this role, you will support the reliability and performance of Primark’s Databricks-based data platform as part of the Data Platform & Engineering team. You’ll monitor data pipelines, manage incidents, coordinate releases, and ensure data products are governed, scalable, and production-ready. You’ll collaborate with Data Engineering and Platform teams to deliver trusted data solutions while driving operational excellence. Responsibilities
  • Support operation and reliability of the data platform (Databricks, dbt Cloud, Azure data services) ensuring production readiness
  • Proactively monitor pipelines and services, identify failures and data quality issues, and coordinate incident triage and resolution
  • Coordinate releases, deployments, environment readiness, and change governance to ensure smooth delivery
  • Maintain runbooks, dashboards, service catalogs, and documentation to support platform health and governance
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering, Platform, Security, Governance, SIAM, Analytics and business teams to improve reliability and supportability
  • Contribute to data platform modernization, including migration from Teradata to Databricks and enhancing monitoring and automation
Key requirements
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Data Operations or similar operational role
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms and DataOps practices
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps, Databricks, dbt Cloud, Azure data services, SQL, Python
  • Experience with production environments, monitoring, incident management, release management and change governance
  • Analytical problem-solving with ability to identify root causes and drive resolution
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-team communication skills
