Data Platform Engineer

THE ROLE

• Own and oversee a cloud-based enterprise data platform built on Azure technologies


• Act as the technical lead for platform-related decisions, scalability and performance improvements


• Work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Architecture and Engineering teams


• Ensure platform reliability, governance, monitoring and operational excellence


• Troubleshoot complex platform, networking, storage and integration issues


• Drive best practice across CI/CD, automation and Infrastructure-as-Code


• Support Data Engineers by removing technical barriers and improving platform capabilities


• Contribute to platform modernisation, AI enablement and continuous improvement initiatives

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Strong experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering or a similar field


• Excellent Azure experience within enterprise-scale environments


• Experience supporting and optimising cloud-based data platforms


• Strong understanding of Azure Data Factory, Databricks and modern data architecture principles


• Experience with CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Git and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform


• Strong knowledge of Python and platform automation


• Experience making technical and architectural decisions


• Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills


• Experience within regulated environments would be beneficial
