Overview

In this role you will apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to supply optimisation problems, turning data into decisions with measurable business impact. You’ll manage analytical workstreams, mentor colleagues, and engage with stakeholders up to VP level. Expect to design robust measurement frameworks, build and iterate models, and craft data stories for technical and non‑technical audiences. Your work will drive data‑driven improvements for Expedia Group’s B2B partners at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning methods to supply optimisation to generate actionable business insights
  • Extract, structure, and transform data from multiple sources to create modeling datasets
  • Design and execute measurement frameworks (A/B tests, causal impact, multivariate analyses) and communicate trade-offs
  • Build and evaluate statistical models (regression, clustering, classification) and translate results into recommendations
  • Create clear, audience-appropriate data visualisations and narratives for diverse stakeholders
  • Lead small analytical workstreams end-to-end with stakeholder alignment on scope and approach
  • Automate repetitive measurement and reporting tasks and develop scalable dashboards for self-serve analytics
  • Produce high-quality project artifacts (technical docs, presentations, executive summaries)
  • Collaborate with analytics peers, domain experts, and business stakeholders to validate approaches and share findings
  • Provide coaching to junior team members on statistics, visualization, and data quality
  • Champion reproducibility by writing shareable, well-documented code and contributing to shared repos (GitHub/Confluence)
Key requirements
  • 4–6 years of experience in data science/analytics or 7+ years in data analytics with relevant degree
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver data-driven insights across multiple projects
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data extraction, transformation, and visualization at scale
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts (regression, ANOVA, probability; frequentist vs Bayesian)
  • Experience with modelling techniques (linear/logistic regression, clustering) and improving model relevance
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present insights to varied audiences
  • Preferred: domain experience in supply optimisation, pricing, marketplace analytics; familiarity with big data tools; exposure to Bayesian/causal inference; collaboration with ML DS teams; inclusive visualization design
