Overview

In this role you design statistical and ML tools and data pipelines to support reliability in Google Cloud Platform. You will work with the Platform Reliability Engineering (PRE) organization to improve change supervision and rollouts, collaborating with engineering and product teams. You’ll gain deep knowledge of infrastructure data assets to influence engineering roadmaps and contribute to broader data science initiatives. This position offers an impact role at the intersection of data science and reliability, shaping how infrastructure decisions are made.

Responsibilities
  • Design statistical and machine learning tools for reliability and change management
  • Build investigative tools and data pipelines for infrastructure integration
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to align with priorities
  • Gain deep knowledge of relevant infrastructure and data assets to influence roadmaps
  • Contribute to team-wide learning and broader data science initiatives
Key requirements
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • 3 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 3 years of work experience with a PhD degree
  • Experience with Python, SQL, and statistical modeling
