Overview
As Data Solution Architect (Manager) at Kainos, you lead multi-skilled agile teams to design and deliver contemporary data solutions, balancing performance, reliability and cost. You provide strong technical leadership and shape solution designs with ops, infrastructure and customer architects. You mentor staff, help define policies and standards, and own the technical design in pre-sales. You’ll impact large-scale data platforms within a people-first, collaborative culture.
Responsibilities- Lead multiple teams as the data solution architect and own system-of-systems architecture
- Design, build and productionise modern data-intensive applications including orchestration and operation
- Integrate broad data technologies across ingestion, transformation, storage, presentation and consumption
- Develop strategic design thinking, roadmaps, risk management and architectural realisation
- Collaborate with customer architects and Ops/Infrastructure to productionise robust, maintainable data solutions
- Mentor and develop team members; coach and contribute to data community and wider capability
- Oversee timelines and estimates for solution delivery; contribute to pre-sales with technical design
- Drive policy, standards, and knowledge sharing across the data team
- Experience leading multiple data solution architecture teams with ownership of a system-of-systems
- Experience designing and productionising modern data-intensive apps with orchestration and operations
- Broad knowledge of data technologies across ingestion, transformation, storage, presentation, and consumption
- Strategic design thinking with roadmap definition, risk management, and architecture realisation
- Comfort with traditional and contemporary data warehousing concepts
- Experience deploying data-processing platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP and Databricks
- Hands-on capability in Java, Scala, or Python
