Overview
As Data Architect at Gallagher in London, you will design and deliver a modern cloud-based data platform that underpins analytics and decision-making across underwriting, claims, actuarial, and finance. You will define the future-state data architecture, promote best practices in data modelling and governance, and enable a scalable, data-driven foundation for business decisions. You’ll work with Snowflake and dbt to deliver trusted, well-governed data that supports critical functions. This role combines hands-on delivery with architectural leadership in a collaborative, impact-driven environment.

- Define enterprise data architecture aligned to insurance priorities (underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance)
- Design and optimise Snowflake-based data platforms for scalability, security, and cost efficiency
- Lead migration from legacy policy, claims, and finance systems to modern cloud data solutions
- Establish architectural patterns supporting data domains, data products, and reusable assets
- Previous experience as a Data Architect in the Insurance Industry
- Understanding of insurance data domains and interdependencies
- Ability to model data across client/customer, policy lifecycle, risk, claims, finance, insurer, regulatory reporting
- Experience with dbt-based transformation frameworks and Snowflake
- Knowledge of data governance, data lineage, metadata, MDM integration
- Ability to translate complex insurance concepts into scalable data models
- Experience with ELT pipelines, CI/CD, and self-service analytics base layers
- Stakeholder management at senior/executive level
