Project Overview

FWA is supporting a major UK Utilities organisation operating across Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, and Berkshire in the migration of its IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) platform from an on-premise environment to a cloud-based solution. The programme includes data migration, process transformation, application modernisation, integrations, and cloud adoption, with Oracle serving as the underlying database platform. We are seeking experienced consultants and specialists to join the programme on a 12 contract, commencing August 2026, with the potential for extension.

Role Overview

The Data Steward will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, integrity, governance, and readiness of asset and maintenance data during the migration from the on-premise IBM Maximo environment to the cloud platform.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data migration teams, and Oracle database specialists to prepare data for successful migration and long-term governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and enforce data quality standards.
  • Support asset and maintenance data cleansing activities.
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies and duplicates.
  • Maintain data governance processes and documentation.
  • Collaborate with migration teams during data extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
  • Support data validation and reconciliation exercises.
  • Work with business SMEs to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in defining future-state data ownership and governance structures.
  • Support migration rehearsals and cutover activities.

Mandatory Skills

  • Experience in data governance or data stewardship roles.
  • Strong understanding of data quality management principles.
  • Experience with enterprise data migration projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with large datasets.

Preferred Skills

  • IBM Maximo experience.
  • Oracle database knowledge.
  • Utilities sector background.
  • Knowledge of master data management practices.

Working Arrangement

  • Contract Duration: 12 months
  • Start Date: ASAP (August 2026)
