About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain their critical database systems in Kimberley . This role requires ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of all databases. You will be responsible for installation, configuration, upgrading, backup, recovery, and performance tuning. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related products.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
• Implement and manage robust backup and recovery strategies.
• Ensure database security by implementing access controls and performing regular security audits.
• Perform capacity planning and proactively manage database growth.
• Develop and maintain documentation for database standards and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator .
• Proficiency with RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of database backup, recovery, and high availability concepts.
• Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
• Knowledge of database security best practices.
