Overview
In this role you’ll own and evolve the MongoDB and relational database estate underpinning global production systems and a high-performance computing environment. You’ll work hands-on in an engineering-led capacity to build, automate, and improve data platforms rather than merely maintaining them. You’ll collaborate with software and infrastructure teams to optimize schema, automation, and application performance at scale. This is a data-centric role in a global tech context with meaningful impact on data infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Administer MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets
- Tune performance for high-traffic, data-intensive workloads
- Own backup, restore, PITR and HA strategy across globally distributed systems
- Monitor platform health using Ops Manager, Prometheus and Grafana
- Collaborate with software and infrastructure teams on schema design, automation and performance
- Proven production MongoDB administration with sharding and replication
- Solid PostgreSQL or equivalent enterprise RDBMS experience
- Strong grounding in backup, recovery, PITR and high availability
- Scripting and automation with Bash, Python or Golang
- Exposure to Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab or wider DevOps practice is a real advantage
