Database Infrastructure Specialist Halifax

Support CAE database infrastructure in Halifax with Oracle, SQL Server, Windows, and disciplined change and release practices.

As an Application DBA, you will administer databases supporting commercial and custom applications. You will coordinate patching, upgrades, migrations, refreshes, releases, and maintenance windows with application, infrastructure, testing, and operations teams. The assignment includes documentation, on-call support, secure environments, and occasional travel or work outside normal hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan implementation, rollback, outage, and post-change evidence
• Coordinate database changes across technical delivery teams
• Support application queries, stored procedures, integrations, and reporting
• Perform performance tuning and troubleshooting across database components
• Maintain architecture, configuration, lifecycle, and support documentation

Requirements:

• Practical enterprise relational database administration experience
• Experience with installation, patching, monitoring, migrations, and recovery
• Formal change, release, incident, and problem-management experience
• Clear technical writing and verbal communication skills
• Availability for occasional on-call and after-hours operational support
