Overview

As a DB2 Database Administrator for NTT DATA, you will design, administer and support IBM DB2 on z/OS, ensuring reliable, secure and high-performing database services in a 24x7 enterprise. You will work with global teams to meet SLAs, drive automation, and implement improvements that enhance service delivery and resilience. This role focuses on complex production support, performance tuning, security and release management, with opportunities to contribute to modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Translate business requirements into technical DB specifications
  • Provide production support and release management for Db2 environments
  • Design, implement and maintain physical database structures
  • Build and support application database releases
  • Implement RACF/ACF2 security rules and access controls
  • Maintain High Availability and replication for business continuity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver stable services
  • Support migrations, upgrades, data conversions and incident resolution
  • Lead performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning
  • Contribute to modernization, cloud integration and data center migration programs
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency
  • Adhere to ITIL processes and governance standards
Key requirements
  • 8–12 years of hands-on IBM z/Mainframe DB2 experience
  • Deep DB2 architecture knowledge, backup/recovery expertise
  • Production support and database release management experience
  • Performance monitoring, tuning and optimization expertise
  • RACF/ACF2 security administration and access management
  • HA/DR and replication technologies experience
  • ITIL processes, incident/change/problem management familiarity
  • Automation exposure and process improvement initiatives
  • Strong technical leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
