Overview

As a DB2 DBA at NTT DATA, you design, administer, and support IBM z//DB2 environments to deliver reliable, secure data services at defined SLAs. You will collaborate with global teams to drive automation, improve operations, and ensure compliant, high-availability database services. You will contribute to modernization efforts and data center migrations while maintaining best practices in security and change governance. This role offers impact across enterprise-scale banking and financial services contexts and opportunities to shape resilient data platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Translate business requirements into database specifications
  • Provide production support and release management for Db2 environments
  • Design and maintain physical database structures and configurations
  • Build and support application database releases
  • Manage DB2 security (RACF/ACF2) and access controls
  • Establish and maintain HA and replication for business continuity
  • Support database migration, upgrades, and data conversion
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve incidents and problems
  • Consult on performance monitoring, tuning, capacity planning, and optimization
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and support teams during releases
  • Participate in infrastructure modernization and data center migration programs
  • Support evergreen initiatives (upgrades, patching, compliance) and automation opportunities
  • Ensure ITIL processes, change management, and governance adherence
  • Provide technical leadership and knowledge sharing
Key requirements
  • 8–12 years of hands-on IBM z/Mainframe DB2 administration and production support
  • Deep DB2 architecture knowledge, backup/recovery, and performance tuning
  • Experience with production support and database release management
  • Strong RACF/ACF2 security administration and access management
  • Experience with High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and replication technologies
  • Understanding of ITIL processes (incident, change, problem) and automation initiatives
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills
  • Leadership and ability to guide junior team members and cross-functional partners
