In this DB2 DBA role, you will design, administer, and support IBM z/OS DB2 environments to deliver reliable, secure database services. You’ll work within a global support structure to meet SLAs, drive automation, and align with ITIL processes. The role focuses on high availability, security, and performance tuning, with opportunities to contribute to modernization and cloud-related initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure resilient, compliant database operations that scale with enterprise needs.

- Understand business requirements and translate them into technical DB2 specifications
- Provide production support and release management for Db2 environments
- Design, implement, and maintain database structures and configurations
- Build, review, test, and support application database releases
- Implement RACF/ACF2 security rules and access controls
- Maintain HA and replication environments for business continuity
- Support database migration, upgrades, and data conversions
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve database incidents and problems
- Provide performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning guidance
- Coordinate with development and infra teams during projects
- Participate in infrastructure modernization and data center migration programs
- Support evergreen initiatives including upgrades, patching and compliance
- Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency
- Ensure ITIL processes, change management, and governance adherence
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff
- Engage in documentation and knowledge sharing
- 8–12 years of hands-on IBM z/Mainframe DB2 experience
- Deep DB2 for z/OS administration, backup/recovery, and performance tuning
- Experience with production support and database release management
- ROACF/ACF2 security administration and access management
- Experience with High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and replication technologies
- Strong ITIL knowledge (incident, change, problem management)
