As Design Director for Data Centers, you lead the design delivery and design management across multiple projects within Skanska’s Data Centre division. You will head the design management function, coordinating client, consultant, Skanska, and subcontractor design inputs to align with programme and contractual requirements. You’ll oversee design managers and ensure information is coordinated across packages and released on time, while supporting cross-functional teams. Responsibilities
  • Lead the design delivery process for Data Centre Projects
  • Lead and manage the design management function and multidisciplinary design teams
  • Coordinate design requirements among Client, consultants, Skanska, and subcontractors
  • Oversee design managers to ensure coordination across packages and timely release according to programme and Design Management Plan
  • Support Commercial, MEP, Digital, Information Control, Sustainability, Planning and Operational teams
  • Collaborate with Project Leadership Team to meet governance and project objectives
  • Contribute to broader Operating Unit and UK business strategies and Design Management, Digital and Information Control functions
Key requirements
  • Senior leadership experience in data centres or technical buildings
  • Experience delivering construction projects £10m-£200m+ through bid, PCSA and delivery stages
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of JCT and FIDIC contract forms
  • Experience designing and operating within a secure UK environment
  • Membership in or desirability of professional institutions (RIBA, ICE, MCIOB)
