In this Technical Director role, you will lead development transport planning initiatives within WSP’s Development team, driving client relationships, market growth, and technical leadership on development and masterplanning projects in Scotland and beyond. You will win and deliver multi-disciplinary work across public and private sectors, shaping strategy and coordinating cross-functional bids. You’ll help diversify the team while delivering high-impact, sustainable development solutions.

- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow market share for the Development team
- Lead and coordinate bids, reviewing submissions for commercial and technical value
- Act as Project Director on major projects and important commissions
- Provide technical guidance to clients through planning and design processes
- Build trusted relationships with public/private sector clients and key stakeholders
- Coordinate cross-disciplinary collaboration within the team and share market intelligence
- Support growth targets with regional leadership and local office teams
- Ensure SHEQ compliance and promote health, safety and sustainability practices
- Degree level qualification in transport planning or civil engineering
- Chartered status
- Proven track record in winning and delivering new business
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and management capabilities
- Broad experience across relevant projects in public and private sectors
- Commercial and strategic capability with evidence of market growth initiatives
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary tender proposals
