Overview

In this role you will manage and optimize a high-performance, bespoke e-commerce platform infrastructure. You will work closely with the dev team to ensure a robust, scalable Aurora Commerce environment across multiple servers and providers. You drive uptime, performance tuning, and proactive issue resolution in a 24/7 production setting. This is a hands-on DevOps position in Central London with meaningful impact on service reliability and platform growth.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor infrastructure to ensure reliable service delivery
  • Collaborate with development to maintain a robust and scalable platform (Aurora)
  • Proactively respond to issues or delegate to hosting providers based on priority
  • Ensure smooth operation of production and development servers for Aurora Commerce
  • Implement and enforce policies, procedures, and standards for infrastructure
  • Prepare and maintain documentation and technical policies
Key requirements
  • 5+ years in a high-traffic, production web environment
  • Solid Linux systems engineering/administration experience
  • Experience with 24/7 Linux-based web operations
  • CentOS 6.x, Apache 2.x, MySQL 5.x, PHP 5.x
  • Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP networking
  • Firewall configuration and virtualization (KVM, VMware, AWS)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
