DevOps Engineer

In this role you will strengthen Wayve’s CI/CD foundation to accelerate engineering delivery. You will build, optimize, and scale pipelines, tooling, and infrastructure used by software engineers across the business. You’ll improve performance, reliability, and security of the build system, enabling faster feedback and releases. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you help shape developer experience and operational best practices in a fast-paced AI-driven robotics environment. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to deepen expertise in automation and scalable infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and build infrastructure across development, testing, and release workflows
- Improve build performance, reliability, and scalability including caching, dependency management, incremental builds, and reproducible builds
- Develop tooling and automation to enhance developer workflows and reduce build and test feedback times
- Operate and scale CI infrastructure (build agents, runners, artifact storage, supporting services)
- Monitor, investigate, and troubleshoot build and pipeline failures with engineering teams to identify root causes and implement long-term fixes
- Contribute to the evolution of Wayve’s CI/CD architecture, security, and practices as workloads scale
- Partner with engineering teams to improve developer experience and support efficient software delivery
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, build engineering, CI/CD, or related engineering role
- Hands-on experience building or improving CI/CD pipelines and automation systems
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Buildkite, or Azure DevOps
- Experience with build tooling concepts (dependency management, caching, incremental builds, artifact management, reproducible builds)
- Strong experience with Linux, Git, and shell scripting; programming/scripting in Python, Bash, Go, or similar
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex build/infrastructure environments
