Overview

In this DevOps Engineer role, you will help build and promote the bank’s DevOps capability and culture. You will mentor feature and platform teams, driving continuous improvement and better customer outcomes. You’ll measure and visualise value delivery, guiding tooling choices and data-driven decisions. You will support cloud migrations and strengthen live workflows, contributing to a center of excellence that scales DevOps practices across the bank.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and coach feature and platform teams to raise their DevOps capability
  • Identify gaps in teams' DevOps skills and run learning workshops and training
  • Demonstrate measurement and visualisation of value delivery using DevOps tools and processes
  • Advise teams on suitable DevOps capability uplifts for their needs
  • Provide feedback to improve DevOps policies, standards, practices and tooling
  • Ensure decisions are data-driven with ROI and cost management insights
  • Support platform and cloud teams to improve the platform and facilitate migration from private to public cloud
  • Enhance route-to-live workflows and cloud migration efforts
Key requirements
  • Extensive experience in Software Development, CI/CD Pipelines and automation scripting
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes
  • AWS hosting and services experience
  • Programming knowledge, preferably Java Spring Boot
  • Experience containerising Java apps for Amazon EKS
  • Demonstrable CI/CD and GitOps experience (GitLab, ArgoCD)
  • Automation scripting in Python and Bash
  • Experience with Observability tooling (Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, Prometheus)
