Overview

As Principal Applications Engineer, you will lead the design and operation of a cloud-native engineering tooling environment on Azure to support UK engineering teams. You will drive the migration of legacy tools to modern cloud-based solutions while ensuring service continuity and a superb user experience. You’ll work in an agile team with a Technical Product Owner and mentors junior engineers, promoting automation and reliable deployment practices. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, DevOps, and developer experience, delivering scalable, secure tooling for engineers. Responsibilities
  • Deploy and support tools on Thales’ Azure infrastructure (CI/CD, artifact management, code quality, licensing)
Key requirements
  • Linux administration and scripting
  • CI/CD methodologies and pipeline design
  • Kubernetes and Docker
  • JFrog Platform (Artifactory/XRay)
  • GitLab for source control and CI
  • Ansible for configuration management
  • Python for scripting
  • Virtual Machines and cloud infrastructure concepts
  • Plus experience in Atlassian Suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
  • Siemens Polarion (requirements/ALM)
  • FlexLM License Server
  • Black Duck SCA, Coverity, SonarQube
  • Jenkins (CI/CD)
