Must-have Skills

  • Kubernetes CRDs & operators; building an orchestration/control layer
  • GitOps (Argo CD / Flux) with Git as single source of truth
  • CI/CD pipeline engineering for platform + tenant deployments; progressive delivery (canary → ring → global) with automated rollback
  • IaC (Terraform / CDK); immutable-infrastructure and everything-as-code mindset
  • EKS / Kubernetes cluster lifecycle and automated validation / smoke testing
  • Operational readiness - PTO gate framework, ORR, runbook (Ops + BC/DR) authoring/validation, disconnected-mode & self-healing, SLI/SLO observability

Skills Related To The Telco Skillset

  • Telco 5G / CNF cloud platform engineering - strongly transferable (same K8s-CRD orchestration, GitOps, CI/CD, multi-site zero-touch rollout, edge ops)
  • Cilium / eBPF networking and Cilium DRA migration (CUSTOMER-owned - advisory/collaboration)
  • Pod networking, service mesh and LOCP integration
  • AMS operating-model exposure; market-data / ultra-low-latency background (ramp-up)
  • Certifications / experience: AWS DevOps Engineer Professional; CKA/CKAD.
