Overview

In this role you will design, build, and maintain Azure-based infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to run .NET applications securely and reliably for retail customers. You will collaborate with the Head of Technology Delivery and the engineering team to automate deployment, monitor performance, and optimize costs, while integrating security and disaster-recovery considerations. You will leverage AI coding assistants to speed up infrastructure work and contribute to incident response and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on, technically demanding position with growth potential into leadership over time.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure using IaC (Terraform, Bicep)
  • Build and maintain hosting environments for .NET apps (App Services, SQL, Storage Queues/Tables, Cosmos DB)
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines across environments
  • Use AI coding assistants to accelerate pipelines, IaC templates, and automation scripts
  • Monitor performance, cost, and security; troubleshoot and flag risks
  • Implement security controls, patching, backups, and support DR/BC testing
  • Support incident response and post-incident improvements
  • Implement threat detection, vulnerability management, and security reporting
  • Collaborate with development teams to enforce secure deployment practices
  • Potentially grow into leadership as the team expands
Key requirements
  • 5+ years in a DevOps/Cloud Engineering role
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services
  • Proficiency in Terraform and Bicep for IaC
  • Experience hosting and supporting .NET applications in production
  • Solid understanding of Azure App Services, Azure SQL, Storage Queues/Tables, Cosmos DB
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
  • Comfortable using AI coding assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot)
  • Security-focused mindset and ability to implement/maintain controls
