Digital Delivery Lead

In this role you lead in-house software delivery for digital platforms, guiding a multi-disciplinary team to ship quality software. You balance people, process and technology, coaching engineers and aligning delivery with business needs. You’ll manage technical debt decisions and stakeholder trade-offs, while overseeing third-party SaaS relationships and vendor management. Based in Manchester with hybrid work, you will drive continuous improvement and leadership development within a customer-focused engineering function.

• Own delivery across in-house software engineering platforms, including development, testing, deployment and production support
• Coach and develop a high-performing, self-organising team
• Translate business requirements into credible delivery plans and roadmaps
• Balance feature delivery with maintenance and risk de-risking of existing systems
• Define and defend trade-offs between refactoring/technical debt repayment and business-facing work
• Manage third-party SaaS vendor relationships and budget accountability
• Collaborate with recruitment to attract and retain engineers
• Provide credible estimates and manage cross-team dependencies

• Experience leading and mentoring in-house technology teams that deliver high-quality software
• Proven track record delivering value iteratively using agile methods with pragmatic process
• Experience building roadmaps, release plans and credible stakeholder estimates
• Ability to manage cross-team dependencies
• Comfort balancing new feature delivery with maintenance and risk reduction
• Ability to challenge business requests with clear trade-offs
• Experience managing third-party/SaaS vendor relationships and budgets
