Digital Solutions Architect

In this role you will lead modern digital product development and deployment, ensuring scalable, secure solutions for a hybrid-cloud, mobile-first member experience. You will own and maintain the digital architectural landscape, shaping end-to-end data journeys and cross-functional designs. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, IT Design teams, and vendors to deliver compliant, secure architectures and effective handovers to support. You will drive architecture governance, roadmaps, and design reviews to enable rapid, reliable delivery and continuous improvement.

• Champion digital architecture across the DL IT landscape and maintain design blueprints
• Design end-to-end solutions for hybrid-cloud and mobile-first delivery with security, scalability, and monitoring in mind
• Collaborate with PODs, IT Programme Management, vendors, and business stakeholders to define scope and deliver complete solutions
• Provide technical solution designs considering business requirements, best practices, and security/compliance (PCI, data protection)
• Ensure landscape is fit for purpose, manage technical debt, capacity planning, and incident trends
• Oversee approvals for digital product designs and support handover to security, legal, and support teams
• Chair the Digital Architecture Review Board and participate in weekly IT Architecture meetings
• Develop architecture roadmaps, test plans (load/performance), and validate third-party development work
• Contribute to solution cost estimates and maintain up-to-date digital design documentation
• Represent Digital Architecture in Change Advisory Board discussions and engage with cross-functional teams

• Experience in modern development processes: native mobile, backend microservices (Java, NodeJS), IaC (Terraform/Terraform Cloud)
• Systems design/architecture experience in digital transformation and modern cloud infrastructure
• DevOps, engineering, infrastructure as code background
• Degree in Computer Science or a technology-related field
• Commercial judgement to align recommendations with budgets
• Strong influencing, engagement, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and PODs
