Satworks is a growing connectivity installation company delivering satellite, LEO, broadband and networking solutions across the UK and internationally.
Our operations involve customers, field engineers, scheduling, stock management, quality control, payments and commercial partners. We are looking for an experienced person to maintain and develop the digital systems supporting these activities.
The Role
This is a practical, hands-on position for someone who can manage our existing operational systems while identifying and implementing improvements.
You will connect customer, booking, payment and operational systems using APIs and other integrations. The objective is to improve the flow of information, reduce manual administration and create a better experience for customers, engineers and office staff.
We need someone who understands how technology supports business operations and can turn operational requirements into reliable, secure and user-friendly systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the company’s internal operational systems.
- Develop and improve databases, forms, interfaces and automated workflows.
- Build, maintain and document API connections between internal and third-party systems.
- Integrate booking, payment, customer, scheduling, stock and reporting processes.
- Work with REST APIs, webhooks and structured data formats.
- Monitor integrations and investigate failed or incomplete data transfers.
- Review API documentation and assess the suitability of potential integrations.
- Manage API credentials securely and maintain appropriate access controls.
- Improve appointment booking, confirmation and customer communication processes.
- Develop efficient workflows for scheduling, engineer allocation and job management.
- Improve engineer work orders, mobile forms, risk assessments and quality-control submissions.
- Support stock control, equipment allocation and reconciliation.
- Maintain and improve payment-processing functions.
- Create operational dashboards and management reports.
- Identify repetitive manual tasks that can be safely automated.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure systems and integrations meet data-protection and information-security requirements.
- Document systems, integrations and important processes.
- Assess new technology and recommend practical solutions.
- Work with management, office teams, engineers and external partners to understand their requirements.
- Support the longer-term development of a connected installation-management platform.

- Experienced in working with APIs and connecting separate business systems.
- Capable of explaining technical matters clearly to non-technical colleagues.

- Focused on producing reliable, practical and easy-to-use systems.
- Able to test changes properly and document completed work.
- Proactive in identifying duplication, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.

Essential Experience
- Experience maintaining and improving digital business systems.
- Strong practical experience working with APIs, webhooks and third-party integrations.
- Experience developing databases, workflows and operational automations.
- Experience diagnosing integration errors and data-flow issues.
- A good understanding of authentication, user access, information security and data protection.
- Evidence of successfully delivering practical technology improvements.
- Ability to prioritise and deliver work effectively within a part-time role.
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting field-service, installation, logistics or workforce-management operations.
- Experience developing customer, engineer or contractor portals.
- Knowledge of booking, scheduling and stock-management processes.
- Experience integrating payment and customer-management services.
- Experience supporting a growing or international business.
- Full-stack development experience.
- Experience managing external developers and software suppliers.
