Director, Applications and AI Automation

As Director of Applications and AI Automation you will shape RES's enterprise application portfolio, automation, and AI-enabled solutions. You will own strategy, delivery and governance across ERP, custom apps, automation platforms, real-time integration and the AI application platform. You will lead a globally distributed team and collaborate with Data and AI Analytics to ensure responsible AI and cost-aware operation. This role offers the chance to drive transformation in a large asset-intensive business with a clear build-to-run operating model.

• Define and own the applications, automation and AI-solution strategy and roadmap aligned to demand and Delivery Governance.
• Lead ERP development on IFS and manage legacy transitions.
• Oversee custom/legacy application development and lifecycle direction of existing portfolio.
• Own automation across Power Platform, workflow, robotic and agentic solutions with governance and standards.
• Manage real-time application integration on Boomi with reliable, secure interfaces.
• Oversee the AI application platform (model gateway, agent runtime, registry) with cost control and consumption governance.
• Set group-wide standards for AI-assisted software development and tooling; ensure security, provenance and reviews.
• Govern AI-enabled applications and automations with responsible-AI standards and cross-functional governance participation.
• Ensure solutions are ready for Demand to Build to Run and handover to Platform Operations.
• Deliver value-focused solutions and uphold architecture and security standards.
• Build and lead a high-performing, globally distributed team and manage vendors, licenses and budgets.

• Senior leadership experience in application development or digital delivery at scale.
• Experience delivering ERP (IFS or comparable) alongside modern applications, automation and AI capabilities.
• Proven track record deploying AI-enabled applications or agents to production with governance.
• Experience modernising or retiring legacy application estates.
• Experience operating a demand-build-run or product/platform operating model.
